Role
The SAP BTP Senior Manager will lead and oversee BTP technical teams and architects, ensuring the effective delivery of cloud platform services and solutions across our SAP landscape. This role requires a strategic vision of platform services, coordination of cross-functional teams, and deep knowledge of SAP BTP capabilities including application development, integration, data and analytics, and extensions.
This job description outlines the core competencies and responsibilities expected from a profile leading SAP BTP operations and innovation initiatives within Application Services.
Duties (include but are not limited to)
- Lead BTP project delivery and platform governance across multiple regions or customers
- Oversee solution architecture, performance, and scalability of BTP-based applications and services
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, design, and implement BTP use cases (e.g., app extensions, event-driven architecture, Fiori/UI5 apps, API management, process automation, etc.)
- Manage and prioritize platform-related requests, incidents, and change initiatives
- Support clients in defining business and technical requirements related to SAP BTP
- Coordinate with development and integration teams to ensure seamless end-to-end solution delivery
- Provide oversight on the technical health and evolution of the BTP environment, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and development standards
- Track and document enhancement requests and product feedback for SAP
- Monitor progress and provide regular reporting on key initiatives
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Hire and develop technical talent as needed
- Manage team capacity, holiday planning, and availability for support
- Conduct regular check-ins (e.g., 1 to 1 sessions) with team members for performance and career development

Education / Experience / Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in SAP BTP or related cloud platforms (e.g., SCP, Neo, Cloud Foundry)
- Strong experience with SAP technologies and modern cloud architecture (e.g., REST APIs, OData, microservices)
- Experience with SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Build, and SAP Integration Suite is highly desirable
- Understanding of SAP S/4HANA extensions and side-by-side development approaches
- Experience managing virtual, multicultural teams and working in agile delivery models
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
- Ability to quickly learn emerging technologies and apply them effectively
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects end to end
