O Castro British International School is a happy, inclusive and successful school in Vigo, Spain with over 700 students in Primary and Secondary. We follow the National Curriculum for England and the Cambridge International Curriculum for KS3 in English, Maths and Science and IGCSE and A Levels. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead and manage all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the school complies fully with statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and relevant local authority procedures.
* Act as the main point of contact for all safeguarding concerns, providing advice, support, and guidance to staff, pupils, and parents.
* Receive, record, and manage safeguarding disclosures and referrals, ensuring timely action, secure record‑keeping, and appropriate escalation to external agencies when required.
* Oversee and contribute to the development, implementation, and regular review of the school’s safeguarding policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
* Work closely with senior leadership, pastoral staff, external services, and multi‑agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to pupil welfare and protection.
* Monitor patterns and trends in safeguarding concerns and provide reports and recommendations to school leadership and governing bodies.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and vigilant school culture where every child feels supported, listened to, and protected.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* C1/C2 level of English.
* Degree in Education, English, or a related field.
* Must have completed specialised DSL/Level 3 safeguarding training.
