Our client is a specialist economic advisory firm operating internationally, focused on delivering independent economic analysis in complex legal and regulatory disputes. The firm works closely with leading law firms, institutional clients and regulatory bodies on matters involving competition, financial markets and large-scale commercial litigation.
Due to continued growth in competition and antitrust matters, they are seeking to appoint a Senior Competition Economist.
You will lead complex competition engagements, manage senior client relationships, and oversee teams delivering economic analysis in high-stakes contentious and investigatory settings.The role involves shaping analytical strategy, directing project execution, and ensuring delivery against demanding client objectives across international matters.
Direct and support project teams in conducting rigorous economic and quantitative analysisShape analytical strategy and ensure high-quality outputs, including clear and well-structured written reportsTake ownership of senior client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser throughout the lifecycle of engagementsSupport effective project planning, resourcing and delivery against commercial objectivesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior economists, maintaining high analytical standardsPhD in Economics required, with expertise in competition, industrial organisation or related disciplinesStrong quantitative and xpzdshu econometric capability, with proficiency in tools such as Python, R, Stata or equivalentProven ability to manage engagements and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelinesClear and persuasive communication skills, able to distil complex analysis for varied audiencesCompetitive package with performance incentivesSupport for continued professional developmentIf you are an experienced competition economist looking to take on greater responsibility within a specialist setting, we would welcome a confidential discussion.
