YOUR MISSION:
As a core member of the L2/L3 Ground Segment Maintenance organisation within the Galileo Project, you will act as the Technical Manager for the Galileo Mission Segment (GMS) with a strong focus on cross-segment coordination and unified technical interface towards the customer. You will play a key role in ensuring a coherent, end-to-end view of the system, acting as a single technical reference point for GMS-related maintenance topics and their interactions with other segments as well as with operations and customer stakeholders. You will contribute to maintaining system integrity, coordinating resolution of complex issues, and ensuring that all involved parties are aligned under a common technical vision and communication flow. This role requires a strong system-level mindset, the ability to navigate multiple interfaces, and the capacity to represent L2/L3 maintenance with a consistent and reliable voice.
Your responsibilities will evolve progressively:
Within the first 6 months, you will:
Build a comprehensive understanding of the Galileo Ground Segment, with a focus on GMS and its interfaces with other segments
Establish strong working relationships with customer representatives, operations teams, security stakeholders, engineering and maintenance teams
Identify and map key interfaces between:
GMS and other Ground Segment elements
Maintenance, operations, and security domains
Support the coordination of technical topics related to GMS within L2/L3 maintenance
Contribute to ensuring consistency in technical communication towards the customer
Participate in the definition and consolidation of processes and workflows across teams
Support cross-segment issue analysis and resolution activities
Within 12 months, you will:
Act as a primary technical interface for GMS-related topics, ensuring a unified and coherent position towards the customer
Coordinate the resolution of complex technical issues involving:
Multiple segments
Operations and maintenance boundaries
Security-related constraints
Support and/or chair technical coordination boards involving GMS and cross-segment impacts
Ensure proper alignment between maintenance activities and operational constraints considering customer requirements
Contribute to the preparation and review of ground segment releases impacting GMS
Facilitate communication and alignment between stakeholders to avoid fragmentation of responsibilities and messages
In the longer term, you will:
Become a system-level technical reference for GMS within L2/L3 maintenance
Ensure a consistent and integrated approach to cross-segment maintenance and evolution activities
Anticipate and manage impacts of changes across segments, ensuring system-wide coherence
Drive improvements in cross-team coordination, communication flows, and interface management
Support strategic discussions with the customer regarding GMS evolution, maintenance, and operational integration
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, or a related technical field
Several years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Complex system integration and verification
Maintenance or operations of large-scale systems
Technical coordination or system engineering
Software lifecycle and deployment environments
Strong system-level understanding and ability to manage multiple interfaces simultaneously
Experience working in environments involving multiple stakeholders
Solid understanding of IT systems, software architectures, and operational environments
An advanced level of English is mandatory
Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
Ability to build a clear, consistent technical narrative across teams and towards external stakeholders
Proactive, autonomous, and structured way of working
PREFERABLE:
Experience with Galileo, EGNOS, or other GNSS ground segments
Familiarity with:
Galileo segment architectures and their constraints
Problem and configuration management processes
Experience in technical interface roles or positions requiring system-wide coordination
Experience chairing or contributing to technical boards or governance bodies
Leadership experience in guiding multidisciplinary teams (without direct line management required)
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, especially in complex and ambiguous scenarios
