We are currently looking for a multidisciplinary Product Engineer to work in the **Large Format**Operations Lab. **As a Product Mechanical engineer within the Operations department, he/she:
- Actively participates in the New Products Design phases working closely with R&D; labs providing the required inputs from Operations perspective (manufacturability, serviceability, cost).
- Drives the transition from early prototype stages to volume production at Worldwide Manufacturing Partners (MPa), working closely with other HP organizations in Asia, responsible for production management.
- Holds the engineering responsibility after production starts and improves the product and its related processes to optimize final product quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
- ** Product Development & Industrialization**
- Improve product manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and quality, by working together and providing feedback to R&D;, from early stages of product design development.
- Product industrialization:
- Ensure product BOM integrity & consistency.
- Define product assembly specs and manufacturing flow.
- Specify, design, and qualify all the measurement tooling & product tests to guarantee product quality during future production in volume.
- Provide onsite support to early production prototype builds that take place during design phases (either in BCN or in the Manufacturing Partner’s premises overseas in Asia -China & Malaysia).
- Support production ramp and ensure successful product launch.
- ** Current products engineering responsibility**:
- Take on engineering product responsibility from R&D.;
- Identify and solve product quality problems (both from the factory and the field/customers).
- Perform engineering analysis for root cause identification. Drive the appropriate corrective actions. Develop design improvements.
- Support product cost reduction initiatives.
- Seek manufacturing efficiency and continuous quality metrics improvements.
**What are we looking for?**
- Recent Bachelor / master’s in industrial, computer science or telecommunications engineering.
- Work experience is not required, but appropriate internships related to the job content would be a plus.
- Solid knowledge in MS Office. Knowledge in programming (Python) and handling data base would be a plus.
- Fluent in English.
