Position Title: Lean Construction Specialist

Position Description:


Leads and supports efforts at the Business Unit or Project level focused on enhancing customer value, fostering a learning environment, facilitating continuous improvement, and maximizing project team collaboration.


Reports To:


General Manager, Operations Manager, or Regional Lean Manager. If assigned to a specific project, reports to the Project Executive or Project Manager. Maintains a dotted line reporting to the Regional Lean Manager.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Implement strategies to develop and strengthen a lean enterprise culture aligned with regional and company goals.
2. Utilize the Last Planner System daily with project teams.
3. Provide strategic insight and direction as a key member of Business Unit or Project Management teams.
4. Support successful project launches using the Launch Matrix.
5. Assist project teams in applying the Lean Roadmap for planning and achieving project and company goals.
6. Establish visual management, Last Planner System, 5S, and other lean tools on projects.
7. Support development and implementation of local improvement initiatives through workshops, training, and coaching.
8. Share and learn from improvement efforts with Regional Lean Manager and others.
9. Implement standard work for activities like LPS coaching and Lean Training.
10. Lead improvement and innovation projects as directed by business unit or regional leadership.
11. Facilitate the establishment of a lean management system and culture.
12. Develop and deliver standard lean training across the region and support national programs on topics such as Last Planner System, lean problem solving, and lean leadership.
13. Conduct regular project reviews with teams and leadership to monitor progress and set improvement goals.
14. Perform other duties as assigned, supporting project teams in using Lean Roadmap as a learning resource.


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree plus at least five years of related experience or equivalent education and experience. Proven communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to interpret contract documents and project schedules. Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, and preferably experience with the Last Planner System, lean principles, BIM, and BIM staff. Curiosity, a learning mindset, and the ability to influence others without authority are essential. Willingness to travel extensively.


Physical Demands:


Requires physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, negotiate work areas, and lift up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for disabilities.


Work Environment:


Work is performed on-site at construction sites, exposed to moving mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather conditions, and noise levels that are moderate to very loud.

May perform other duties as assigned.
