The Professional Information Business Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Barcelona, who will manage the development, integration, support and maintenance of content processing and editorial applications and ensure that they follow established SDLC policies, procedures and guidelines. We are looking for creative and passionate engineers who want to be hands-on, design, implement and own code all the way through deployment and in production.
You Will:
1. Play an essential role in all stages of the product life cycle, take ownership and have the initiative for building new software and ensure existing is functioning
2. Handle the entire software development life cycle, end to end
3. Lead technical discussions and lead technical decisions covering their responsibilities
4. Understand and practice Agile software development and management
5. Build rigorous load, stress and performance unit tests before deploying software
6. Join a functional, collaborative fun, team
7. Work with the latest technologies
You Have:
8. 2-4 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying backend applications
9. Net Framework with C# in building robust applications including asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, logging, xml/json serialization and security
10. Troubleshooting middle-tier and database applications
11. Skilled in SQL Server with T-SQL and stored procedures, focusing on transactions, ACID compliance, data normalization, and query optimization
12. Competent in data access from .NET using ORM (Entity Framework or Dapper) and direct queries
13. Proficiency writing unit, functional, performance, soak, and stress tests
14. Familiarity or interest in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Chef)
15. Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes and AWS or Azure
16. Knowledge of designing RESTful JSON APIs
