Alongside our Council Members and Board of Vice-Chairs, OpCo and Executive Committee representatives from our Member organisations, WTTC directors are responsible for guiding the work of the Council in the fulfilment of its mission.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will support the President & CEO by taking full responsibility for WTTC’s day-to-day operational management, enabling the President & CEO to focus on leadership, global advocacy and high-level member and stakeholder engagement.

The COO will oversee WTTC’s core operational and administrative functions, ensuring organisational excellence, strong crosspartmental coordination and high-performing teams. The role requires a highly experienced, internationally minded senior leader with extensive leadership experience and a strong global track record, ideally within Travel & Tourism, global experience companies, and international or membership-based organisations.

CONTEXT

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the COO will oversee Finance & Accounts, Marketing, HR, Legal and IT to ensure effective, efficient and well-coordinated operations across WTTC’s Headquarters functions.

As WTTC prepares to establish its new Headquarters in Madrid - Spain, the COO will play a central role in ensuring the organisation is operationally ready for this transition. Once the new Headquarters is in place, the COO will lead and oversee the full establishment and ongoing operational effectiveness of the office.

The position requires a senior international executive with strong operational discipline, exceptional coordination capability and the ability to manage complex administrative structures in a fast-paced global environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operational Leadership and Coordination

* Lead the day-to-day operations of WTTC’s administrative and support functions.
* Ensure departments operate with high standards of quality, consistency, timeliness and efficiency.
* Provide clear operational direction and oversight to functional directors.
* Maintain cohesion and alignment across Finance & Administration, IT, Marketing, HR and Legal teams.

2. Strategic Support to the President & CEO

* Serve as the operational counterpart to the President & CEO.
* Manage operational issues and workflow, enabling the President & CEO to prioritise strategic and external-facing responsibilities.
* Provide the President & CEO with operational dashboards, updates, insights and recommendations.
* Represent the President & CEO in internal operational discussions where delegated.

3. Governance, Compliance and Internal Controls

* Strengthen processes, systems and governance frameworks.
* Ensure all departments comply with organisational policies, internal controls and best practice.
* Oversee preparation of operational materials for OpCo, ExCom and Board meetings.
* Ensure systems, documentation and workflows are robust, up-to-date and fit for purpose.

4. Team Leadership and Organisational Culture

* Lead and develop a team of senior functional directors.
* Establish clear expectations, accountability structures and performance standards.
* Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, transparency and operational discipline.
* Support the professional development and performance of all direct reports.

5. Reporting, Planning and Cross-Functional Coordination

* Oversee preparation and consolidation of operational, administrative and departmental reports.
* Ensure data submitted to the President & CEO is complete, accurate and timely.
* Coordinate closely with functions reporting directly to the President & CEO, including Research & Policy, Government & Advocacy, Membership, Destinations, Commercial and Events, to ensure operational alignment.
* Track delivery of organisational plans and follow up on key actions.

6. Process Improvement and Efficiency

* Identify operational gaps and opportunities for improvement.
* Oversee implementation of improved processes, tools and systems.
* Ensure procedures are clearly documented and regularly updated.
* Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.

7. Internal Communication and Representation

* Act as the central liaison between HQ operational functions and the President & CEO.
* Ensure timely and consistent communication across departments.
* Represent HQ operations in internal coordination meetings.
* Support the President & CEO with special operational initiatives or organisational priorities as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

* Extensive experience in the Travel & Tourism industry required.
* Background in a global experience company or multinational organisation required.
* Experience in an international, membership-based or not-for-profit context is desirable.
* Minimum 25 years of professional experience, including extensive senior leadership experience in operations and organisational management.
* Demonstrated international track record, with experience operating across multiple regions and complex global environments.
* Proven track record overseeing multiple operational and administrative functions at executive level.
* Strong governance, compliance and process management experience.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, boards and external partners.
* Fluent English required;

an additional European language is desirable.

Job Summary

This CTO role is responsible for the company's technology strategy and execution, ensuring the technology vision aligns with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Technology Strategy:

Requirements and Qualifications

* Proven experience in a technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, etc.) with a track record in building and managing technical teams.
* Practical experience in software development and scalable systems architecture.
* Experience in handling a multitenant system.
* Experience in Cloud architecture and familiar with Azure.
* Solid knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Your responsibilities will include:

You will oversee data management and clinical surveillance activities, including:

* Support the design and management of CRFs and the study database (DB), including design, setup, validation, data entry oversight and training.
* Developing and maintaining the Data Management Plan, Data Quality Plan, and Edit check specifications.
* Creating CRF guidelines, annotated CRFs, and managing data discrepancies.
* Providing analytical support for clinical trial data, including analysis, interpretation, and preliminary recommendations.
* Monitoring data review issues, ensuring timely query resolution, and performing QA/QC for the study database.
* Managing database lock processes and applying a risk-based approach to assess trials and proactively address issues.
* Communicating data review findings to internal and external stakeholders.
* Supporting study committee activities (e.G., DMC).
* Maintaining the DMBS file system.
* Identifying, monitoring, and tracking potential study risks.
* Assisting in the development of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and visualization techniques to identify trends and propose solutions in collaboration with data architects, software engineers, and product development teams.
* Performing other assigned duties as needed.

Required profile:

* University degree highly recommended
* 4 years in Data Management Systems at a CRO or pharmaceutical company.
* Hands‑on experience with CDM systems: Medidata Rave Zelta, Medrio, Oracle u others.
* Familiarity with GCDMP, ICH and CDISC standards (specially CDASH) and applicable data privacy regulations.

Skills:

Senior Data Analyst & Clinical Data Manager

Global Responsibility

Senior Data Analyst & Clinical Data Manager is a hybrid role responsible for driving the development of reporting and visualization activities that enable data-driven decision-making across Exeltis’ portfolio of clinical studies, while leading and ensuring accountability in all data management activities related to clinical trial projects. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of clinical trial data management, from study start-up to final database lock, while also delivering new solutions that optimize data workflows, facilitating the interpretation of clinical data trends, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry quality standards.

Specific Responsibilities

Data Analytics:

* Analyzing and interpreting data to identify patterns that help drive decision-making in clinical trials.
* Implementing clinical data standardization and developing new solutions to ensure optimal management and interpretation of the clinical data.
* Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate clinical trial progress.
* Generating data visualization strategies and dashboards through the use of data from various databases sources.
* Collaborate cross-departmentally to develop new machine learning and artificial intelligence tools related to clinical data.
* Ensuring that study team members from different functional areas understand and deliver components affecting data to ensure the successful execution of deliverables.

Clinical Data Management

For the clinical trials conducted internally (in-house model):

* Serves as a primary point of contact for data management deliverables. Understands, mediates and solves issues related to data management study deliverables and escalates as required to Study Team or Manager (as applicable).
* Establishes strong communication with Study Team, functional leads and other stakeholders.
* Provides data management operational input into the study design, protocol development, study planning, study documents including the study risk register.
* Leads all data management aspects of a clinical study, including study planning, start-up activities, conduct and database lock.
* Ensures data management study deliverables are in compliance with applicable SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
* Creates or reviews study level timelines for data management deliverables and ensures they are met on time.
* Develops study-specific electronic data capture (EDC) systems: electronic case report form (eCRF) specifications, edit checks specifications.
* Validates and tests clinical database during User Acceptance Testing.
* Creates key functional plans and specifications, tailored to the study needs (e.G. Data Management Plan, eCRF Completion Guidelines, Data Review Plan).
