We are looking for an Energy Markets Analyst / Trader to join the Operations Team and support the development of Maze's market operations, internal tools and daily trading processes. The role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a market agent, BRP/BSP, trading, middle office or energy operations environment, who wants to take a hands-on role in a new company with significant room for professional growth. Over time, the position may evolve into a role with greater responsibility, including the possibility of coordinating or leading the daily activity of the analyst/trading team. Responsibilities
The candidate will support the Operations Team in the following areas: Development and improvement of internal tools to automate key operational processes. Collection, validation and processing of metering data from SIMEL and other relevant systems. Support in the preparation and submission of offers to OMIE, REE and other market platforms. Weekly and monthly invoicing to clients, considering different contractual structures and asset typologies. Design, monitoring and improvement of automated strategies for the continuous intraday market. Daily monitoring of renewable, battery and hybrid assets in the energy markets. Analysis of market results, deviations, ancillary services and asset performance. Preparation of ad-hoc analyses, reports and presentations for management, the board and clients. Support to the commercial team in the preparation of client offers, proposals and market analyses. Continuous improvement of internal databases, reporting tools, processes and operational workflows. Plus: ability and willingness to support commercial discussions with clients will be highly valued. Background and Education
At least 2+ years of experience in a market agent, BRP/BSP, trading, middle office, energy operations or similar role. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or a related field. Fluent in English. Plus: specialised master's degree or additional training in energy trading, renewable energy, data science, business analytics or risk management. Competencies
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large volumes of data. Good understanding of electricity markets, renewable assets and operational processes. High flexibility and ability to manage several tasks in a dynamic environment. Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work autonomously. Proactive mindset, with initiative to improve processes and take on new challenges. Structured, organised and accurate working standards. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Proficient use of MS Office tools, especially Excel and Power Point. Interest in renewable energy, battery storage, market optimisation and the energy transition. Plus: financial modelling skills. Plus: experience with data management, quantitative analysis or statistical methods. Plus: programming knowledge in at least one of the following: VBA, SQL, Python, R or MATLAB.
