Your Mission
As a Global Category Manager, you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for strategic and tactical sourcing within key categories, primarily steel castings, forgings, and related hydraulics components. You will shape global category strategies that support business objectives, ensure supply continuity, and drive long‑term value creation. You will manage and develop a global supplier base, lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management, while continuously improving performance across cost, quality, delivery, risk and sustainability. You will actively drive cost and value initiatives such as design‑to‑cost, value engineering, localisation, and total cost of ownership optimisation, supported by market intelligence, spend analysis, and risk assessments. You will work closely with engineering, operations, finance and other key stakeholders in a cross‑functional, global environment, providing early supplier input for product development and industrialisation.
Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with business and supply chain priorities.
Ensure resilient, compliant and sustainable sourcing solutions across international markets.
Contribute to continuous improvement by challenging existing ways of working and driving measurable results.
Your Profile
You are a confident and experienced sourcing professional who is comfortable taking ownership and challenging viewpoints in complex, international environments. You thrive in global roles where continuous improvement is part of everyday work.
A degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Supply Chain or equivalent relevant experience.
Extensive experience in strategic sourcing or category management within manufacturing or heavy industry.
Strong technical understanding of steel castings, forgings and hydraulics and related manufacturing processes.
Proven ability to lead supplier negotiations and drive measurable cost and value improvements.
Fluency in English and French is required.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
Location and Other
This position is flexible within Europe, with a preference for proximity to an Epiroc site to support collaboration and team integration. Possible locations include the Czech Republic, Poland, France, Spain and Serbia. xpzdshu
The role includes regular international travel (approximately up to 50% of the time) and a hybrid workplace arrangement to promote work‑life balance.
