About The Role
As a Director of Radiation, Waste Management and Decommissioning you will direct and lead the radiation engineering waste management and decommissioning engineering services for both Westinghouse and customer needs. You will report to the VP, Global Component Mfg and Eng and be located at any major Westinghouse location. Hybrid work schedule.
Main Responsibilities
Lead nuclear and industrial safety excellence through continuous improvement and engineering process/service reviews across the RWMD organization.
Lead over 170 engineers in multiple countries, including responsibility for organizational development, personnel development and resource planning, design development execution, and development of new methodologies/tooling to address emerging customer and regulatory needs in RWMD technical fields with consideration of different regulatory needs and approaches.
Provide technical and operational oversight to assigned personnel, BU representatives and design organizations.
Oversee engineering performance relative to RWMD scope, schedule, funding and quality of work as well as responsiveness to customers' requirements.
Direct continual improvement by reviewing the department's operations and developing and introducing alternative approaches, methods, or equipment/tools to effectively accomplish objectives and gain efficiency.
Manage and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. In conjunction with other Westinghouse groups, establish strategies for obtaining new business and meeting financial and strategic objectives.
Participate in preparation of proposals, provide technical leadership and initiate actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Consult with other internal functions to provide advanced information on potential business opportunities.
Assist product line leadership, strategy, business development and project management teams in implementing plans and achieving objectives.
Develop and maintain organization and staff to support design completion, project implementation and emergent business opportunities.
Ensure training and qualification of personnel are identified, documented and managed throughout all parts of the department.
Provide direct interface and communication to senior Project personnel including Customer, Partners and Regulators; 20–30% travel.
Qualifications
BS Engineering; MS Engineering is valuable.
10+ years of applicable experience.
5+ years of experience in a team management role.
Experience in nuclear industry is valuable.
Leadership, commercial effectiveness, resource planning, and change management.
