Global Law spans a network of over 80 jurisdictions with complex legal and regulatory frameworks and innovative service offerings which are constantly evolving and developing as commercial markets and client needs evolve. This role provides the opportunity to expand an internal network globally, work with Law leaders on new services and opportunities, and gain insight into alternative regulatory regimes. The role also encompasses supporting Global Law in the development of new technologies to drive efficiencies in service delivery across multiple markets. This leadership role provides an opportunity to elevate your knowledge, experience and exposure within the firm. /p pThe Global Law Tax Quality Leader, consulting with the Global Tax Quality Leader, is responsible for monitoring, controlling and enhancing the quality of Law services and technologies and for the consistent execution of global policies, procedures and methodologies. /p pThe overall role is largely one of protecting the brand and reputation of EY, ensuring and enhancing the quality of Law service offerings in all respects, understanding and enabling Law business strategy, collaborating with region and country Law and risk management executives to advise business leaders and navigate quality requirements to deliver compliant and commercially viable solutions to clients. Amongst other areas of focus, the Global Law Tax Quality Leader advises business leaders and professionals regarding legal, ethical, regulatory, and professional obligations specific to the provision of legal services and our Law service offerings. The Global Law Tax Quality Leader will also support Global Tax Quality with other special projects and broader quality initiatives not specific to the Law subservice line. /p pbYour Key Responsibilities /b /p pThe Global Law Tax Quality Leader’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : /p ul liEngage with Global Law Leaders regarding Law strategy and priorities /li liApprise Global Law Leaders of changes to EY policies and regulatory developments impacting the Law business /li liAdvise Global Law Leaders and professionals regarding regulations, professional standards, quality imperatives, and risk mitigation strategies /li liReview and advise regarding new Law services and revisions to existing Law services /li liDraft Law-specific guidance and procedures and discuss these with Law leaders /li liReview new tools and technology, including AI solutions, to support efficient delivery of Law services /li liLiaise with Global and Region GCO, quality and risk management executives, and Law leaders regarding legal entity structure, regulations, and licensing requirements /li liResearch and apply EY policies to fact-specific questions raised by engagement teams and leaders /li liConsult with Law engagement partners regarding quality and regulatory matters relevant to providing services across member firms and regions /li liSupport Law engagement teams, Region quality and risk leaders, and Global Risk Management in managing conflicts of interest /li liPromote compliance with laws, regulations, and EY policies in discussions, via training, and through practice communications /li liPrepare communications and lead presentations on quality and risk topics to Law business and Global and Region Tax Quality leaders /li liSupport Law Quality Reviews and Law Tool Owner Reviews /li liParticipate in Global Tax Quality meetings /li liLead a Law Quality Network to connect and share leading practices with other Tax Quality colleagues /li /ul pbSkills And Attributes For Success /b /p ul liUndergraduate / University degree; law degree preferred. /li li15+ years prior, related work experience. /li liProven ability in the client environment, including significant experience in serving multinational engagements. /li liComprehensive knowledge and understanding of EY’s Global organization, strategy and culture. /li liIn-depth knowledge of the Tax Service Line, enabling the ability to identify Law quality issues in existing and new service offerings and work proactively with the business to resolve these. /li liStrong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with, respond to and influence leaders at all levels. /li liAble to balance the need to be approachable and supportive with the requirement to be resolute and resilient in challenging situations. /li liHigh degree of professionalism and integrity. /li liFlexibility to accommodate calls and meetings across time zones. /li /ul pbIdeally, you’ll also have /b /p ul liExperience and awareness of legal regulatory regimes or client facing legal experience. /li liA strong existing network of contacts within EY, both within and beyond the Law subservice line. /li liThe ability to be future-focused, solutions-oriented and adapt to new and developing areas (e.g., sustainability, the impact of AI) as the business evolves. /li /ul pbWhat We Look For /b /p pSomeone who has proven skills, thrives working in a large global, multi-cultural organization and is able to think creatively. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $175,500 to $450,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $210,700 to $512,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
