DUNGS Ibérica S.A., the Spanish subsidiary of the German group Karl Dungs GmbH & Co. KG, is strengthening its commercial and technical presence in Spain and is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer – Process Heat to expand its footprint in the industrial combustion and gas safety market.
With over 80 years of engineering excellence, DUNGS is a global leader in combustion control and gas safety systems, delivering high-quality solutions for industrial burners, process heating, power generation, and OEM applications worldwide.
The Mission
This role is designed to drive growth in the Process Heat (GF3) segment across Spain, with a strong focus on industrial OEMs, plant builders, EPCs, and system integrators.
The key objective is clear:
Expand market share, generate new business opportunities, and increase turnover through technical-commercial leadership in a highly specialized industrial market.
We are looking for a candidate with proven market knowledge in industrial thermal processing and combustion systems, not an entry-level profile.
Market & Technical Focus
You will operate in sectors such as:
* Industrial furnaces and thermal process systems
* Aluminium melting, ceramics, plastics, and chemicals
* Oil & Gas and energy systems
* Packaging and other process industries
* Industrial burners and boiler manufacturers (OEMs)
A deep understanding of:
* Gas trains, valve systems, pressure regulation
* Combustion control systems
* Industrial process heat applications
* Regulatory and safety frameworks (CE and local standards)
* is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
* Identify, approach and develop new OEMs and industrial customers within your territory
* Strengthen relationships with plant builders, integrators, and end users
* Increase average deal size through system and solution selling
* Actively win business from competitors in your area
* Execute strategic sales goals aligned with HQ (EMEA Process Heat)
Technical-Commercial Leadership
* Develop tailored gas control and burner system solutions in cooperation with engineering teams
* Act as project lead during the solution design phase
* Advise customers on component selection and system configuration
* Translate complex technical requirements into commercially viable offers
* Support negotiations, pricing strategy and contract discussions
Project & Pipeline Management
* Register and manage opportunities in coordination with Back Office
* Monitor project progress from first contact to order placement
* Ensure full traceability and reporting within the Group matrix structure
* Collaborate closely with HQ for customized or high-value solutions
Candidate Profile
We are specifically looking for professionals with:
* Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical sales within industrial environments
* Strong experience in process heat, combustion systems, industrial burners, or thermal processing equipment
* Background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
* Proven experience in business development and key account management
* Ability to manage complex technical discussions with OEM engineers
* Project management exposure in industrial installations
* Spanish and English fluency (German is a plus)
Experience as an application engineer or in oven/furnace construction companies (e.g. industrial furnace manufacturers or thermal equipment suppliers) is highly valued.
This is not a beginner role. We are seeking a commercially driven engineer with solid market understanding and the ability to independently structure and grow a sales territory.
Location & Mobility
* Preferably based in Madrid (high industrial density)
