Our Headquarters and Technology Centers are located in the US and Europe, and our workforce is more than 7,000 strong.OverviewThe Purchasing Specialist ensures that the items and services to manufacture our IVD Solutions are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered according to the agreed terms and conditions.
The role is also responsible for negotiating rates with service freight suppliers and controlling the imports transit.ResponsibilitiesKey AccountabilitiesRuns reports in SAP to help determine purchase requests for expense items.
For inventory items, generates purchase orders based on reorder points set in the inventory management system.
Periodically reviews reorder points to ensure they are adequate.Creates purchase orders from purchase requisitions.Issues purchase orders to suppliers and confirms delivery date, quantity ordered, and price are correct.Maintains vendor relationships ensuring best pricing and order preference is received.Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.Conducts periodic conference calls with suppliers to follow ongoing projects.Data entry and filing paperwork.Maintains procurement records, monitoring deliveries, detecting any delays, and solving issues with vendors to avoid customer backorders.Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information, direction, and/or appropriate referrals.Participates in department meetings, exhibitions, workshops, etc., for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.Coordinates with the warehouse and planning department.Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.Internal NetworkingProduction, R&DPlanning;, warehouseQuality ControlQualificationsMinimum Knowledge & Experience required for the positionRequired: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior in any related subject within the supply chain area.Valuable: Any additional degree higher than that required in the previous section.Years of experienceProfessional experience is required, minimum of 5 years in a similar position.Min knowledgeSoftware: Fluency in Office Tools (Excel & Word), valuable advanced knowledge in SAP.Language: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan.
Medium knowledge of English (reading, writing, and speaking).
