About the role:
The technical engineering role provides engineering expertise and value selling support to Sales based on extensive technical knowledge and experience in the Industrial market. This role supports field-based technical service needs.
The technical engineer plays a key role in developing and detailing the value proposition for new customer sales opportunities and in preventing the loss of existing business to competitors.
Key Accountabilities:
* Demonstrate safety leadership and ensure HSSE standards are maintained
* Support internal and external customers as an industrial application expert
* Assist division sales teams in acquiring new business
* Develop and deliver high-quality technical training to partners
* Collaborate with sales to provide timely, effective solutions to customer process and product issues using sound problem-solving techniques
* Work with Technology and Marketing to support new product development and field feedback
* Coordinate with Global Product Managers to provide local market insights and identify needs
* Document and share methodologies through case studies highlighting benefits of Castrol products and services
* Conduct field testing of new and reformulated products and services
* Participate in projects supporting the Industrial strategy
* Mentor and train less experienced salespeople and engineers
* Analyze Used Oil Analysis reports to inform decision-making
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (Mechanical, Chemical, Lubrication, Manufacturing, etc.)
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of industrial technical experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and other relevant tools
* Expertise in Metalworking fluids and High-Performance Lubricants
* Strong value selling and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of sustainability practices (energy savings, water reuse, net zero) preferred
* Skilled in structured problem-solving techniques
