Job PurposeThe site SSHE Manager has overall responsibility for managing Personal and Process Safety, Construction Safety, Security, Health, and Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at all levels in the site. The SSHE Manager is responsible for all Unilever employees, contractors, and third‐party suppliers across the sites, and works across the organization to deliver SSHE technology, tools, and work processes to help site leaders and management excel in SSHE performance. The Manager also has responsibility for overseeing legal SSHE compliance of the site in the geography. Unilever's external and internal commitments for protecting people and the planet are facilitated by the SSHE community, and success is determined by a strong SSHE culture in the site.
Key ResponsibilitiesSets a SSHE Implementation Plan to deliver against the European and Global SSHE Strategies.
Sets goals and plans to meet cluster and SSHE commitments.
Manages the site SSHE team responsible to deliver results.
Maintains a strong network across the geography to manage risk of upcoming changes and builds plans into existing priorities particularly new capital projects, new business acquisitions, and divestitures.
Governance
Leads the culture change process for SSHE across the site.
Designs and operates a governance process to track site performance against all SSHE targets, ensuring progress meets company expectations.
Leads the auditing program across the site ensuring simplification and full compliance.
Ensures global governance tools like PAR, SPR, Safety Pillar, SHENet, MOC, SIRA, Power BI, and others represent the geography accurately, maintaining local governance tools as necessary.
Oversees sites legal compliance to meet all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards.
Manages change to balance risk according to the Management of Change procedure.
Ensures appropriate controls are in place.
Ensures the Security Minimum Mandatory Requirements are in place on site.
Leads the Security Site compliance.
Reporting and Analysis
Supports global reporting with data and verbiage for internal and external company reports for SSHE technologies, ensuring accuracy and brand protection.
Develops local reporting and conducts trend analysis from incidents, near misses, and safe behaviour observations.
Translates global standards into local language and ensures compliance.
Capability Building
Oversees professional SSHE skills within SSHE and across the site team by determining training needs and assisting in the delivery of training programs.
Maintains local expertise in specific SSHE technologies such as machinery safety, mechanized material handling equipment safety (MMHE), safe driving, office safety, safe travel, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, emergency planning and response, security, process safety, water, air, and waste compliance requirements and others.
Incident Management & Emergency Response
Advises line management in all safety, security, and environmental accident/incident investigations.
Assists the Leadership Team in leading and developing the internal Incident Management committees and Central SHE committee.
Supports site leaders in serious incident investigations and analysis.
Leads critical root cause investigations for complex incidents.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in occupational health & safety.
Minimum five years of experience in SHE roles and supply chain operations.
Strong knowledge of Spanish local regulations and compliance.
Strong expertise in process safety and construction safety.
Leadership seniority to influence senior stakeholders and people‐management skills.
Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
Experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
Working knowledge of SSHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.
Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management.
Technology experience in engineering, modelling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations, and environmental impact on the planet, and how those technologies across Unilever impact risk is beneficial.
Good observation and auditing skills.
Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.

Experience in quality.
