Offer Description

The Research Manager will e responsi le for:
· Advising and supporting academic and research staff in designing and developing their professional training pathway, taking into account individual needs and the requirements of research programmes.
· Supporting the PDI Training Area in the strategic planning and implementation of training programmes aimed at research excellence.
· Identifying specific training needs related to project management, competitive funding, knowledge transfer, research ethics, and other key areas for research careers.
· Coordinating the research-related training offer, including face-to-face, hybrid and online activities, in collaboration with internal and external entities.
· Promoting training support activities (workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.) that encourage continuous improvement and the acquisition of transversal research skills.
· Participating in the systematisation of data on PDI training for monitoring, evaluation and planning reports.
· Maintaining effective communication with academic and technical staff across the various university services involved in PDI training and development.
· Contributing to the improvement of training processes through innovative proposals aligned with European standards for researchers’ professional development (such as the EURAXESS framework or the Researcher Development Framework).

Institution: Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) / University of the Balearic Islands (UIB)

Candidates must have a university qualification in one of the following or similar fields:
· Pedagogy, psycho-pedagogy or education sciences
· Educational technology or e-Learning
· Staff training and educational innovation
· Business management and administration (with a focus on training and educational management)
· Systems or informatics engineering (with experience in learning platforms)
· Audiovisual communication (with project management experience)
· Other qualifications accrediting skills in educational management and training, experience in content development for learning platforms and audiovisual project management.
Particular consideration will be given to candidates with a postgraduate qualification in digital education, educational project management or pedagogical innovation.

Specific Requirements

Will be valued:
· Experience in managing educational projects, especially in the field of higher education or continuing education.
Previous experience in training specialised staff in companies will also be considered.
· Knowledge of pedagogy and instructional design, with the ability to develop hybrid and online programmes.
· Proficiency in learning platforms, especially MOODLE.
· Capacity to manage resources for the implementation of training programmes.
· Knowledge of learning assessment, monitoring tools, and accreditation systems in continuing education.
· Competence in integrating educational technologies and digital resources into teaching and learning.
· Use of project management tools (Microsoft Planner or similar).

The following skills will also be valued:

· Effective communication. Ability to work with teaching staff, administrative personnel, and students.
· Teamwork. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in educational settings.

Catalan. Level equivalent to C1 or higher (mandatory).
Spanish. Level equivalent to C1 or higher (mandatory).
English. Level B2 or higher will be valued, especially in reading and understanding technical documentation.

Prior experience

Will be valued:
· A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in managing educational projects or continuing education.
· Experience in planning and delivering training programmes.
· Experience in designing and developing hybrid, face-to-face and online courses, and in blended learning strategies.
· Experience with emerging technologies (e.g. AI in training).
· Knowledge of assessment and learning monitoring systems in virtual environments.
· Participation in educational innovation or digitalisation initiatives in higher education.

Compensation may be higher where the successful candidate accredits recognised professional experience.

Planned end date of the tasks subject to the contract: Monday, August 31, 2026

Eligibility criteria

• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.

Eligibility threshold: 60 points.

Selection process

In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.

Selection comitee

i. The relevant Pro-Vice-Chancellor for research (or delegated representative) as chair.
ii. The supervisor (or delegated representative).
iii. The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).
iv. One or more expert members in the topic pertaining to the recruitment and chosen by the chair of the committee, where applicable.
v. The head of FORHU (or delegated representative), as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
