Responsibilities
Reporting to the Test & Commissioning Center of Competence Manager, you will define, plan, and execute comprehensive testing and commissioning activities for multiple subsystems and complete signaling systems across national and international railway projects. You will ensure that technical solutions are functionally and operationally adequate, meeting all associated requirements. This role bridges engineering excellence and field reality, leading teams, coordinating complex activities, and delivering the assurance that keeps railways running safely and reliably.
* Define and plan comprehensive testing and commissioning strategies for different subsystems and integrated signaling systems. Execute field tests and ensure all technical solutions meet functional and operational requirements. Manage and coordinate all activities throughout the project execution phase, overseeing budgets and ensuring cost‑effective resource allocation.
* Lead and support local test and commissioning teams on international projects when required. Provide professional training and development to field teams, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to execute activities successfully. Deliver maintenance and operation courses to customers in collaboration with Center of Competence specialists.
* Support Project Execution teams with engineering expertise during critical field activities. Coordinate between engineering, project management, and customer stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project schedules, milestones, and quality standards. Communicate test results, commissioning status, and any issues or risks to project leadership.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement in Test & Commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with CENELEC standards and V‑life Cycle models throughout all phases. Document lessons learned and best practices for knowledge sharing across projects, driving innovation in testing methodologies and commissioning approaches.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in railway signaling projects.
* Proven experience in Test & Commissioning activities with a track record of successful project delivery.
* Strong knowledge of CENELEC standards and V‑life Cycle models.
* Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
* Availability to travel nationally and internationally as project requirements demand.
* Continuous improvement mindset with a proven ability to optimize processes and enhance quality.
* Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and supporting technical teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Goal‑oriented approach with a customer focus and commitment to project success.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience managing Test & Commissioning activities on multiple concurrent projects.
* Background in ERTMS or other advanced signaling technologies.
* Knowledge of railway safety standards and certification processes.
* Experience coordinating with international teams across multiple time zones.
