What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced Information Security, Data Privacy and/or AI (Management System) Auditor or Lead Auditor (ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 42001) to work with us as a contractor. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with strong experience in auditing information security regulations and/or AI systems. This role is essential to developing our core offerings: conformity assessment and certification models that can be applied to AI systems across multiple industries and scaled effectively.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct management system audits for assigned clients, from audit planning and preparation through delivery of the audit report and notes to the lead auditor and/or certification manager.
* Assist the Account Manager, Lead Auditor, or other personnel in determining audit duration, planning, resources, and other technical aspects requiring specialised expertise, including defining audit schedules, procedures, and technical personnel.
* When assigned, review audit reports from audits not personally conducted, follow up until certification recommendations can be issued, and complete the corresponding records.
* Issue certification recommendations.
* Participate in the appeals process as an appeals reviewer and provide an opinion.
* Identify new certification needs within client organisations.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of applicable certification standards and regulations. Provide and maintain evidence of relevant qualifications and competencies.
* Inform Zertia of any real or perceived conflicts of interest related to assigned tasks.
* Apply ISO 19011 auditing principles, best practices, and high professional standards while conducting audits on behalf of Zertia.
* When acting as Lead Auditor:
Assigining responsibilities to other audit team members for specific processes, functions, sites, areas or activities.
Develop the audit plan.
Communicate the audit plan to client, coordinate schedule and the audit overall.
Conduct opening meetings, daily debriefs and closing meetings.
Evaluate team members performance.
Lead the audit team, conduct team meetings, ensure effective communication among team members.
Plan and assign tasks to team members and reassign as necessary.
Ensure other team members provide their notes and reports.
Discuss findings and prepare consolidated audit report.
Follow-up with clients and review corrective actions until closure of NC and final report.
Requirements:
* University degree or equivalent qualification (Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Physics, or similar).
* Minimum 4 years of professional experience in ICT, including at least 2 years in Information Security (National Security Framework and ISO 27001) or Artificial Intelligence.
* Demonstrated training and experience auditing ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and/or ISO 42001. More than 30 audit days or more than 3 management system audits within the past 5 years. At least one initial certification or recertification audit and one surveillance audit under supervision and evaluation, including documentation review, risk assessment, implementation, and reporting.
* Desirable experience in developing and validating AI models, including machine learning and deep learning techniques.
* Sector knowledge relevant to industries that are or may become Zertia clients: terminology, processes, technologies, industry risks, AI governance structures, business policies and requirements for AI management, codes of conduct and best practices. Also includes processes, governance structures, functions, documentation, hierarchies, monitoring, analysis, and evaluation related to Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS), risk management processes (particularly ISO/IEC 23894), information and data security, and risk and impact assessments linked to AI management (including ISO/IEC 22989, ISO/IEC 5259‑3, ISO/IEC TR 24027:2021, ISO/IEC CD 42005, ISO/IEC 27001, and where applicable ISO/IEC 27701).
* AI regulation knowledge, particularly the EU AI Act and similar regulatory frameworks in the United States and the United Kingdom.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
* Technological curiosity and interest in emerging fields, especially disruptive technologies and generative AI.
* Proactivity and autonomy, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to identify and resolve information management issues.
* Collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with third parties.
* You have the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
* Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and spoken) is required.
