Job Opening : Humanities Teacher(ELA / History)

Position Overview :
ESC American School, an international school with an American methodology and education philosophy and a close-knit environment, is seeking a full-time Humanities Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching History, English, and other Humanities electives for students in grades 7–12. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the teacher will serve as an advisor to a small cohort of students, providing academic and personal guidance as part of our student-centered approach.
Qualifications :
* Prior teaching experience at the middle and / or high school level.
* Experience working with an international and diverse student body.
* Familiarity with Project-Based Learning (PBL) and active learning methodologies.
* Knowledge of the American education system and teaching standards (Common Core)
* Ability to work in an international environment and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
* Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, History, English, or a related field.
* Teaching Certification (general or relating to the subject area and grade levels)
* A valid, legal work Visa which allows you to work here in Spain.
* Experience or training in personalized education and innovative teaching strategies is highly valued.
* Preferably with own car and / or means of transportation
Key Responsibilities :
1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History, English, and other Humanities electives.
2. Design and implement learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
3. Serve as an advisor for a small group of students, providing mentorship and support.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and project-based units.
5. Student assessment / grading and writing student progress reports.
6. Participate in school activities and contribute to the growth of the school community.
