Recruitment Consultant at Barrington James
The Director of Paediatrics serves as a senior, strategic leader responsible for guiding clinical excellence and shaping long‐term direction within the paediatric portfolio. In this executive‐level role, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing high‐level clinical insight, analytical oversight, and strategic direction across programmes. While not directly drafting clinical development plans, you will ensure they meet the highest scientific and regulatory standards, offering critical evaluation and expert guidance.
A key part of the role involves mentorship—supporting, developing, and empowering junior medical staff to grow their clinical, analytical, and strategic capabilities. The position requires strong strategic thinking, rigorous analytical skills, and the ability to influence cross‐functional teams to deliver high‐quality, patient‐centred outcomes.
Ideal Candidate
10+ years of clinical or medical affairs experience, with a strong track record in leadership roles
Expertise in paediatrics, with deep understanding of patient needs and developmental considerations
Experience in neuro‐developmental disorders, including clinical pathways and therapeutic landscapes
Hands‐on involvement in Phase II/III clinical trials, with solid knowledge of study design and execution
Strategic experience, including portfolio planning, cross‐functional leadership, and long‐range programme direction
Adaptive trial design experience, with ability to evaluate and guide innovative study methodologies
