Voragine Game Studio is a videogame company based in Madrid, whose team is composed of developers experienced in the industry.
After a successful crowdfunding campaign, we are currently developing our first title Eden''''s Guardian, a pixel-art 2D metroidvania and we''''re looking for passionate developers to help us realize our vision.
The subject of the email must be: Application - Animator Pixel Artist and please attach there your curriculum, cover letter (optional) and portfolio.
- A portfolio showing pixel art animations.
- Strong grasp of motion, timing, and squash & stretch principles in pixel art.
- Previous experience working on video games or similar projects.
- Ability to follow a defined art style.
- Good communication skills and reliability with deadlines.
- Fundamentals of 2D animation: squash & stretch, anticipation, follow through, etc.
- Strong control of volume, shape, and style with limited pixels.
- Great ability using tools like Aseprite, Photoshop, etc.
Desired requirements
- Experience in Metroidvania, soulslike, or platformer games.
- Basic knowledge of implementation in Unity.
- Interest in contributing to other visual elements (VFX, cutscenes, etc.).
- Passion for indie games, dark atmospheres, or strong narrative experiences.
- English fluency.
- Spanish speaker.
Duties
- To animate playable characters, enemies, and NPCs in pixel art (idle, walk, attack, death, etc.).
- To create animations for interactive elements (switches, doors, traps, moving platforms, etc.).
- To collaborate with the art and design team to ensure visual consistency and expressive animation.
- To optimize animations for implementation in Unity.
- Flexible working hours (within a range).
- Relaxed work environment: no clients, no unreasonable deadlines, no crunch time, etc.
- An ambitious project with an established visual style and active development.
- Potential for ongoing work on this or future projects.
