Job Description
A vacancy for a Materials and Processes Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Seville. The successful applicant will join the Engineering Department, specifically the Materials & Process Department (M&P; Integration) as part of the Engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensure materials, transformation processes (especially special processes) and industrial capabilities meet quality and engineering/design requirements.
- Manage M&P; industrial projects, including costing, workload planning, bid and offer preparation, and project coordination.
- Industrial qualification of processes: define, coordinate, and execute qualification plans and implement qualification requirements for Airbus DS.
- Perform technical assessments of capabilities and risks from special processes/manufacturing perspective, evaluate compliance against requirements, and conduct technical audits.
- Carry out analysis of deviations and anomalies in special processes/manufacturing processes and materials.
- Define and develop procedures and specifications.
- Represent the M&P-PE; department in MFTs and task groups for assigned projects.
- Conduct data and trend analysis.
- Project management focused on industrial implementation.
- Workload planning, accounting, bid, offer, and quotation preparation and management.
Qualifications
- Master’s Sciences Degree or Engineering qualification.
- Experience in managing projects, KPIs, and data analysis.
- Experience with special processes/M&P;: chemical processes, surface and protection processes, heat treatment, welding, testing of materials, sealants, coatings, paints, and processes control.
- Experience in analytical laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge and experience of methodologies for process qualification.
- Experience in manufacturing shopfloor environments and knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts.
- Experience in impact analysis, leading problem‑solving activities, and risk analysis.
- Experience as an auditor and conducting audits or reviews at supplier level.
- Experience in non‑conformity resolution and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge and experience of EN9100, Nadcap Program, quality and regulations.
Basic Skills
- High flexibility, interpersonal skills, and ability to find solutions in high‑pressure contexts.
- Proficient in English and Spanish; other languages are appreciated.
- Availability for frequent travel, including out of Europe; long stays may be required.
