Procurement Specialist
Are you an educated procurement person with a passion for technic and supply chain excellence?
We are looking for an experienced professional to join us in our Center in Sant Cugat del Valles. This position executes and supports the global sourcing strategy for multiple finished goods & direct categories in the EMEA region. It involves analyzing market and spend data, developing and implementing strategic cost-saving initiatives, and negotiating contracts. The Procurement Specialist contributes to optimizing procurement processes, supplier sourcing, risk and performance management, as well as supplier relationship management, to achieve Kennametal's objectives in terms of delivery, quality, and cost.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Manage one of a Finished Goods category, mainly focusing on cutting tools for the EMEA region.
* Collaborate with Global Category Management to align regional needs with the global strategy.
* Source and onboard new suppliers according to commodity strategy.
* Manage regional projects, lead negotiations, and seek cost optimization opportunities.
* Build and develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet procurement targets.
* Monitor and improve QDC (Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance of the regional commodity.
* Lead annual Business Review Meetings with key suppliers.
* Support Operations and act as a liaison between manufacturing sites and sourcing organization.
* Partner with Global Sourcing and other functions to ensure best practices and project execution.
Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar.
* Experience in an industrial environment with technical knowledge for efficient procurement of machined parts; metal cutting experience is a plus.
* Proven strategic procurement track record.
* Understanding of market trends, cost drivers, and risks.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and proactive skills.
* Business acumen and ability to prioritize and align strategies.
* Data analysis skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP S/4HANA.
* Willingness to travel approximately 20% within EMEA.
* Excellent English skills; German and/or French is advantageous.
