Therapeutic Specialist, HIV

In the last 35 years, Gilead has contributed to milestones in HIV treatment, including triple therapy, single-tablet regimens, and new medicines that transform and improve lives.
Specific responsibilities
* Prepare business plan regional and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV; communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
* Identify and map patient referral journey pathways within the HIV space in your territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
* Achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
* Work in partnership with Regional Market Access, Medical colleagues, and Marketing to ensure local access is in place for HIV Gilead medicines.
* Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders. Set and achieve customer contact plans and deliver on related KPIs.
* Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other external expenditures.
* May represent the company at professional events and promote products at such events.
* Collaborate with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on cross-functional projects.
* Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
* Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
* Achieve the competency levels required in the role.
* Comply with country regulations and code of conduct at all times.
* Role will require travel and, depending on location, overnight stays.
Knowledge, experience and skills
* Passion for commercializing breakthrough medicines, with a strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and a patient & customer-centric approach.
* Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required; experience with the HIV therapeutic area is preferred.
* Scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma or similar is required.
* Established contacts with relevant customers is preferred.
* Sound scientific knowledge and ability to stay current with emerging data.
* Ability to digest original publications and talks and understand how HIV services are delivered.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships internally and externally.
* Ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and communicate at executive levels.
* Proven expertise in building relationships, influencing and negotiating skills.
* Proven experience in account planning and cross-functional account management.
* Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
* Familiarity with industry trends and awareness of competitors’ resources and practices.
* Solid analytical skills and the ability to interpret information to provide recommendations.
* Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
* Availability to travel is required.
