The Data Centre Infrastructure Operations (FOC) watches over 24x7x365 monitoring of the data centre's physical infrastructure from a central monitoring location. The team focuses on consistency, reliability and attention to detail to deliver an optimal customer experience. You will join a diverse team of engineers and collaborate across the Infrastructure Operations organisation to uphold high standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity at low cost. A basic understanding of data centre infrastructure is helpful but not essential. The successful candidate will provide assistance and support to on-site data centre teams to help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Further details: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levelsKey responsibilities Monitor, acknowledge and respond to data centre infrastructure alarmsCreate tickets for infrastructure issues and escalate to on-site teamsValidate and process change management requestsEscalate infrastructure issues to external vendorsFacilitate the response to on-site eventsServe as a Point of Contact (POC) for internal and external teamsAssist with the development of communication and escalation protocols to improve team performanceAssist with the development of tools that will enhance team performanceAbout the team The FOC is a singular support team that proactively monitors life-safety systems and infrastructure equipment alarms (utility switchgear, generators, transformers, UPS units, air handling units, temperature sensors, etc.) that provide power and cooling to the platform on a 24x7x365 basis.We support Data Centre Engineer Operations teams responsible for operating infrastructure equipment. Our role is to ensure that critical alarms are properly Responded to, Acknowledged, Investigated, and Dispatched (RAID).
