Purpose
The role, with a strong Fintech component, forms a key part of the Legal team in managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group as a Travel Tech Company, supporting the group’s growth plans.
Expected Deliveries
Assist the Fintech/Insurtech Team with the set‑up and implementation of initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring effective development of strategic projects.
Advise on day‑to‑day business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial perspective and considering worldwide regulatory frameworks, providing preventive counselling on legal requirements and identifying, monitoring, and advising on legal risks.
Responsibilities
Provide legal assistance on the risks of new initiatives from a commercial and regulatory perspective. Monitor new regulations and assess their impact on HBX activities.
Advising the Fintech/Insurtech Team on day‑to‑day decisions, providing preventive counselling and reviewing contracts, especially focusing on regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with other functions (Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security, etc.) to give aligned and complete advice to the Fintech/Insurtech Group.
Review and reshape current ways of working, improving, simplifying, and designing guidelines and scalable processes/protocols in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication in English;
Spanish desirable.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Experience in risk management and negotiation, with ability to handle difficult situations with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, autonomy, and ability to cross‑connect issues with different functions.
Team player, flexible, agile, and adaptable to change.
Experience
Minimum six years of experience in similar or related roles.
Previous experience as in‑house counsel in a multinational company dealing with Fintech matters;
experience in a Fintechdepartment of a law firm valued.
Experience working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
Qualifications
A law degree from a reputable institution (required).
Master’s or specialization in Fintech Law (desirable).
Experience in Legal Fintech (required). Data protection experience desirable.
Business‑level proficiency in English (required). Other languages valued.
