As the Technical Director/Sub-Regional Head, you will help develop technical strategies and be a technical leader across all Flavour Creation and Application Teams in Western Europe. Your expertise will guide technical solutions excellence within our organization, provide a positive customer experience, and foster a workplace where our employees love to grow.
You will be a member of the Western Europe Leadership Team and the Technical Leadership Team for Europe. You will report to the Commercial Head Western Europe and will be based either in Naarden, The Netherlands; Argenteuil, France; or San Celoni, Spain.
Main Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership
* Define the Western Europe technical strategy based on the overall regional strategy.
* Provide strategic direction for Research & Development or Regional Innovation departments from a Western European perspective.
* Ensure alignment with other regions in Europe.
* Ensure the right capabilities and resources are in place to implement the strategy.
* Update management on technical activities and performance against objectives.
Provide a Superior Customer Experience
* Act as the main technical contact at key accounts to develop relationships and understand technical needs.
* Participate in key customer visits and meetings.
Technical Process Management
* Coordinate with functional areas to assess and improve technical execution.
* Provide leadership to select, implement, and promote technology improvements.
* Manage tools and approaches to enhance project execution.
* Support the commercialization of new technologies.
People Management
* Oversee the performance of the technical team in Western Europe.
* Lead initiatives for technical training and development.
* Support recruitment and performance management of technical staff.
* Promote diversity and inclusion within the team.
Academic Background
* Polytechnic or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related fields; or
* M.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related area.
Professional Experience
* Minimum 7+ years in a food applications or flavorist lab or related area.
* Strong project management and leadership skills.
* Proficiency in interfacing with customers and technical presentation skills.
* Excellent communication skills to align resources and meet objectives.
