We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the finance team of an international group with operations in Spain. This role will be based in Seville and will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and supporting management with timely insights.
About the role:
As Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support audits, and contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of the general ledger and timely reporting of financial data.
- Prepare and review VAT, local tax, and other statutory filings in compliance with Spanish regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting, cost control, and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency within accounting operations.
- Provide financial insights and support to management as needed.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–10 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in an international environment.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and Spanish compliance requirements.
- Experience working with SAGE accounting software is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Strong Excel and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills.
