This research project focuses on Open Innovation, specifically on Corporate Venturing Squads, a novel collaborative approach between corporations and start-ups. Examples include initiatives like the 100+ Accelerator, Construction Start-up Competition, and MobilityXLab, led by industry giants such as AB InBev, Coca-Cola, Cemex Ventures, Colgate-Palmolive, Ericsson, and the Volvo Group.
Our research aims to explore the front-end of innovation within these multi-partner strategic alliances, using a learning-oriented perspective to understand how this model differs from traditional innovation mechanisms. We plan to conduct a comprehensive literature review and qualitative research to define and conceptualize this emerging approach.
The goal is to produce findings suitable for publication in a reputable academic journal and to contribute to the broader research on Corporate Venturing Squads, an ongoing initiative at the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center.
