For one of our key clients and world leaders in materials technology, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is looking for a Project Engineer to assist our client in the realization / construction of one of their megaprojects situated in Northern Spain. Once the construction phase begins, full on-site presence will also be required. This is expected to occur towards the end of this year / early next year.
Please note that you would initially work as an independent consultant (autónomo) through CMC, with it being our client’s intention to make the role permanent upon successful collaboration after or within the 2-year contract.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the design and construction of their area of responsibility & expertise and should possess the following qualities:
1. University degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, preferably in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation / Automation.
2. Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects, especially in the mentioned fields.
3. Relevant experience and understanding in the execution of industrial projects in operational environments.
4. Knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD).
5. Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices, and legal requirements applicable to their specialty.
6. Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
7. Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package.
8. Ability to conduct tasks in accordance with established rules and procedures.
They will work closely with the Program Director & Project Manager to fulfill the following requirements:
1. Prepare, revise, and approve technical documentation for project design phases, ensuring standards, guidelines, and best practices are considered.
2. Ensure project documents are complete and optimized for a competitive and fair tender process.
3. Support procurement by screening bids and confirming good reception of components and works.
4. Control costs during project execution.
5. Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning within their responsibility area.
6. Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate work and meet deadlines without delays.
7. Execute tasks efficiently, safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
8. Make timely quality decisions within their engineering scope.
9. Gather data to inform decision-makers on complex issues.
10. Propose improvements in procedures, technologies, or productivity.
11. Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects.
12. Participate in internal and external audits.
13. Perform all tasks safely, complying with environmental, health, and safety regulations and procedures.
