Through our three brands—Alaika Advisory (Strategy Consulting), Alaika Capital (Investment Company) and Alaika Building (Company Builder)—we are creating the financial‑services holding company of the future. Founded in October 2022 by Johanna von Geyr, a practice lead partner of a leading NASDAQ‑listed strategy consultancy, and Harald Braunstein, a builder‑investor of multiple international software companies, we bring together deep domain expertise and a proven track record in building and investing in leading software product companies.
What you will do
- Create Impact for our Clients: Identify information sources, gather and interpret data, execute analyses, and present findings to team members and client stakeholders. Lead workstreams and projects on initiatives such as IT mergers, strategic transformations, and CIO/CSO reorganisations.
- Grow & Team Leadership: Develop analytical, interpersonal, critical‑thinking, technology, and business‑management skills from day one. Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to consultants.
- Be a Trusted Cybersecurity Professional: Analyse client cybersecurity structures and maturity; orchestrate, design, and implement solutions; establish risk and compliance processes and develop policy frameworks.
- Cross & Upselling: Identify opportunities for cross‑selling and upselling Alaika services to existing clients. Maintain strong relationships to understand needs and offer tailored solutions.
- IP Development: Own key IP components (e.g., SOC and IAM as part of the Cyber Practice) and maintain/develop them according to client projects and market developments. Own at least one external‑facing task per quarter (e.g., writing an article or managing a project like our website). Support organisational development, including tools and processes such as SAP implementation and website go‑live.
Your Profile
- Professional Experience: 8+ years full‑time experience in cybersecurity consulting or a B2B cybersecurity environment within the DACH/EU region, with a record of contributing to large‑scale transformation projects in Insurance cybersecurity.
- Educational Background: Degree in an IT or analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering) from a leading university. Diverse backgrounds are welcome.
- Cybersecurity Expertise: Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, ISO 27001, CISSP, CCSP, CISM; knowledge of BaFin BAIT/VAIT regulations is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Proactive attitude, ownership mindset, and a preference for seeking forgiveness over permission.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data‑driven decision‑making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in German and English is required.
