Technical Engineering Director – Multiverse Computing

* CompactifAI – a groundbreaking compression tool for foundational AI models based on Tensor Networks that makes large AI systems like language models more efficient and portable.
* Singularity – a quantum‑ and quantum‑inspired optimization platform used by blue‑chip companies to solve complex problems in finance, energy, manufacturing, and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Drive end‑to‑end delivery on customer projects, from technical scoping to execution and delivery.
* Transform client needs into innovation, identifying opportunities to derive new intellectual property and focusing on transferring innovations into scalable company products.
* Build and curate a high‑performance team, responsible for recruitment, mentorship, career development, and fostering an open and collaborative environment.
* Allocate and optimize talent across projects, ensuring resources align effectively with department priorities while maintaining workload balance.
* Leverage deep domain knowledge in machine learning, LLMs, and/or quantum computing to act as a technical authority and trusted advisor.
* Coordinate with other directors, identifying cross‑project synergies and ensuring alignment with other department teams to maximize company‑wide impact.
* Represent the department externally, acting as a technical and strategic point of contact for customers and managing relationships.
* Report directly to the VP of Services and CTO.
Required Qualifications
* Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning, Physics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
* Minimum 3 years’ industry experience working on applied machine learning solutions, with emphasis on NLP, Large Language Models, or Deep Learning.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management with hands‑on responsibility for delivering end‑to‑end client engagements.
* Demonstrated team‑management experience, ideally managing managers and multi‑project pipelines.
* Experience with Python and applied ML frameworks.
* Ability to collaborate with diverse and distributed teams across both technical and non‑technical functions.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience translating prototypes into products with Product and Platform teams.
* Track record of acting as a customer point of contact, aligning technical roadmaps with customer expectations.
* Ability to mentor senior engineers and managers, supporting professional growth and retention.
* Solid background in developing and managing project plans, budgets, and milestones in complex projects.
* Excellent communication skills with experience presenting at C‑level stakeholder meetings.
* Ability to work independently, proactively identifying opportunities and driving results in a rapidly scaling environment.
* Familiarity with quantum computing concepts or enterprise‑scale AI deployment is a plus.
