The Material Planning Leader is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the material planning processes & procedures across multiple international locations.
This role is to set up KPIs & strategic key lines for material planning, contributing as well to setting up state of the art systems.
This role oversees the timely delivery of materials required for production, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting the company’s global supply chain strategy.
The Material Planning Leader will be reporting to the Global Planning Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Material Planning and Scheduling :
Develop and implement global material planning strategies to ensure a consistent supply of materials across all production sites.
Set up standard ways of working.
Inventory Management :
Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess stock & enhancing inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement :
Identify and implement process improvements & procedures to enhance material planning efficiency and effectiveness.
Identify and implement state of the art systems for material planning.
Risk Management :
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential material shortages or supply chain disruptions.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of material planning processes to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Supplier Management :
Establish and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work closely with production, sourcing, logistics, and other departments to align material planning with overall business objectives.
Coordinate with regional material planning teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as needed.
Team Leadership :
Lead and mentor a team of material planners, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in material planning, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in the electrical sector.
Minimum 5 years of experience in team management preferably in an international environment.
Strong knowledge of MRP systems / DDMRP systems and inventory management principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
Strong English skills (C1), other languages will be a nice to have,
Ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
