Our Systems Engineering Competence Centre leads the technical architecture of satellite platforms, from early concept to on-orbit operations. What’s the Challenge?
As a
Senior Space Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and verification of complex spacecraft systems. You will coordinate technical activities across subsystems, define system-level requirements, and ensure architectural consistency throughout the mission lifecycle. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will drive performance, reliability, and innovation across all mission phases.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Leading the design, development, and verification of critical subsystems (OBDH, AOCS, Propulsion, Communications, EPS)
Defining and managing system-level requirements and ensuring interface compatibility
Developing and maintaining the spacecraft system architecture across all subsystems
Performing trade-off analyses, simulations, and optimizations for mass, power, cost, and performance
Coordinating hardware and software integration across subsystems
Supporting cross-functional activities with Ground Segment and Flight Operations teams
Leading anomaly resolution and troubleshooting throughout the project lifecycle
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation: requirements, ICDs, verification plans, and design reviews
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mission and operational success
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
Proven experience in spacecraft systems engineering and subsystem coordination
Strong understanding of MBSE methodologies and system-level design
Familiarity with mechanical, thermal, radiation, and propulsion systems
Proficiency in space design and analysis tools (CATIA, NASTRAN/PATRAN, ESATAN, FASTRAD)
Hands-on approach to solving cross-functional technical challenges
Knowledge of New Space practices and low-level integration techniques
Experience with ECSS standards and technical documentation
Ability to analyze and verify system configurations under operational constraints
Additional Valued Skills
Experience with Capella or Valispace MBSE tools
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
Technical writing and familiarity with space-related standards
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Master’s or PhD is a plus
10+ years of experience in relevant roles within the space industry
Language Skills
Fluent English (minimum B2 level)
Spanish is a plus
