Job Summary
Temporary Genetic Laboratory Technician for a maternity leave (approx. 9 months). Location: JUNO Genetics Laboratory, Valencia (Spain). The role supports daily operations in a laboratory specialized in reproductive genetics, including Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) and Carrier Screening.
Responsibilities
* Perform laboratory procedures for PGT‑A, PGT‑SR, PGT‑M, and Carrier Screening including processing of blood samples, embryo biopsies, DNA, and other sample types using techniques such as PCR, qPCR, library preparation for NGS, etc.
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to their review and improvement.
* Assist in preparing documents for the laboratory’s Quality Management System according to ISO15189 standards.
* Prepare reagents and manage inventory control.
* Assist in setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments (e.g., thermal cyclers, sequencers).
* Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including electronic documentation in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Qualifications
* Official laboratory technician certificate.
* Desirable: proficiency in English.
* Theoretical and practical experience in a genetics laboratory.
* Practical experience with DNA amplification techniques (e.g., PCR, whole genome amplification), MLPA, next‑generation sequencing, or related technologies.
