Procurement Trainee – Internship

We are looking for a Procurement trainee to support the General Procurement & IS/IT segment, contributing across the end‑to‑end purchasing lifecycle: from managing purchase orders and supplier selection to KPI control, incident resolution with suppliers, and Lean‑based process optimisation.
Responsibilities – Purchase Order Management
- Manage purchase orders for General Expenses and IS/IT products and services.
- Track and follow up on open purchase orders, ensuring on‑time delivery and proper closure.
- Handle supplier incidents and coordinate resolution actions.
- Support the supplier selection phase and onboarding processes.
- Assist in offer analysis and comparisons to support informed decisions.
- Contribute to relationship management with suppliers in alignment with company policies.
Process Improvement – Process Optimization
- Identify and implement improvements in purchasing processes using Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Contribute to standardization (templates, checklists, best practices) for the segment.
- Multitask and coordinate several concurrent initiatives, collaborating with IS/IT, finance, engineering and operations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a point of contact among internal stakeholders (IS/IT, engineering, finance, general services).
- Encourage open communication and teamwork in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications – What we look for
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any field) is required; a Master’s degree is a plus (completed or in progress).
- Motivation: Strong interest in purchasing/procurement and willingness to learn the full purchasing process in a large company.
- Analytical and technical skills: Ability to analyse offers, compare alternatives, and produce clear, actionable insights.
- Tools: Advanced Excel (must); willingness to learn and use SAP; basic Microsoft Project; ability to build clear presentations in PowerPoint.
- Mindset: Energetic, proactive, with a strong learning spirit; responsible and organised; capable of multitasking and prioritising.
- Process improvement: Interest in Lean methodologies and KPI‑driven performance management.
- Communication: Clear interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience: Prior internship or project experience in procurement, supply chain or technical environments is a plus but not required.
