Site Manager – Electrical
Responsibilities
Operationally reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will be in charge of the site works phase of the project by planning, coordinating and monitoring site teams of field services engineers, installation teams and sub‑vendors for installation and commissioning (from pre‑delivery of equipment to the site till complete L2‑L5) of Schneider Electric equipment till successful acceptance by the customer. Act as the primary contact for the customer and general contractor for all construction and commissioning field activities on the project during site activity.
Attend daily site meetings, toolbox talks and conduct task briefings as required with customers, contractors and suppliers protecting company interests (cost, resources, schedule).
Prepare, monitor and update detailed installation & commissioning schedule and collaborate with Project Manager to ensure that commissioning activities are integrated into the overall project programme. Oversee on‑site works and teams of technicians ensuring they adhere to all health & safety regulations and HSE plan on site.
Monitor the works and provide weekly progress reports to project manager.
Collect timesheets and organize the daily report (maintain a site diary) identifying performed activities, roadblocks, and downtime.
Manage and monitor day‑to‑day site activities, anticipate right resource levels and ensure timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
Ensure method statements are communicated, understood, acknowledged, and followed by all site staff. Efficiently and effectively direct other employees/contractors engaged in work on behalf of the company.
Ensure all construction complies with design specifications and feedback to the design team in case of modifications to be implemented (re‑mark drawings). Identify problems with systems or products along with installation and testing. Ensure that all systems and equipment are properly installed, tested, and commissioned.
Keep pace with change to identify and tackle on‑site modification and potential change orders in collaboration with the project manager. Carefully control the snags list until successful closure. Ensure active and fast response, leading the preparation of an action plan to close the snags.
Prepare, review, and approve concise commissioning method statements where necessary.
Complete the necessary certificates for handover to the client and witness testing and associated documentation, as required.
Requirements
Previous experience in managing and working with teams of contractors, as site manager or on‑site project manager.
Experience in Datacenter projects with major global customers.
Experience in Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgear.
Experience in commissioning of electrical equipment.
Assertive and strong stakeholder communication skills.
Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with customers, general contractor, equipment suppliers, and manufacturers.
Autonomous, decision‑maker and organized.
Awareness of quality, health & safety, and environmental matters related to the works.
Ability to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurized environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills on technical issues/topics.
Language: English B2 & Spanish B2.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Must be able to relocate and live permanently in Burgos – Spain for the duration of the project (~1.5 years) or Madrid.
