As a Product System Development Engineer at MAHLE, you will be responsible for Project E / E Development according to the timeline and budget, coordinating engineering domains (Requirements Management, Hardware, Software, Mechanics, Functional Safety, Validation, and Industrialization) to achieve prototypes and project milestones, ensuring MAHLE PDP deliverables. You will also focus on Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Quality.
How can you become part of our success?
* Coordinate technically and strategically with the Product System Development Team Leader.
* Manage technical aspects of new product development.
* Apply lessons learned from previous projects.
* Manage technical resources at the project level.
* Serve as the main technical interface with the customer and production plant.
* Analyze and negotiate customer requirements with the System Requirements Engineer.
* Coordinate development tasks across technical domains: System Requirements Engineering, Hardware, Software, Mechanics, Quality, Functional Safety, Validation, and Industrialization.
* Develop the project technically in line with budget and schedule.
* Work closely with the Project Manager on risk and cost analysis.
* Ensure Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Quality adherence.
* Plan and monitor development cycles following MAHLE PDP.
* Align prototype maturity levels with project milestones and PDP.
* Approve the eBOM for each development cycle.
* Own release notes documentation.
* Organize technical reviews involving relevant domains and the quality department.
* Review Design FMEA with the quality department.
* Define critical or safety characteristics of the product.
* Manage and resolve technical problems.
* Willingness to travel and provide on-site technical support.
* Keep the Project Manager and Team Leader informed of project progress.
Note: The Product System Development Engineer is not responsible for system or functional block diagrams, electronic schematics, 2D/3D drawings, design justifications, simulations, tolerance analyses, or validation plans but is consulted during reviews.
What skills do you need?
Critical:
* Degree in Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Physics, or similar.
* Proficiency in Spanish (C1).
* Technical background in electronics development, preferably in automotive electronics.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Planning, Gantt, or similar tools.
Required:
* Experience with MahCad or similar CAD tools.
* Background in electronics design fields: Hardware, Layout, Software, Mechanical, Validation, Functional Safety, Prototyping, or Industrialization.
* Experience with laboratory instrumentation and test setups: CANoe, INCA, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, etc.
* Strong cross-functional communication skills.
* Ability to resolve electronics problems.
Desirable:
* Experience coordinating cross-functional teams of 5-10 people.
* Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge of Automotive SPICE and Functional Safety (ISO26262).
* Experience with management reporting.
* Previous experience in automotive sector and power electronics, with direct contact with customers and suppliers.
