About the Role :
The role involves overseeing the delivery of country-specific commercial and market access/reimbursement programs to launch and fully commercialize the company’s product portfolio within Spain. It includes establishing and leading Spain's public-private partnerships (PPPs), collaborating with medical affairs and evidence generation activities, and working with regional and global teams to optimize contributions to these goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Build and develop an effective Country leadership team capable of executing the Spain plan and securing growth aligned with international objectives.
2. Coordinate with the Biopharma team at the country level and with the VP EU biopharma and relevant teams.
3. Achieve key performance targets related to sales revenue and profitability; aim for business growth beyond the annual plan.
4. Create and manage a comprehensive country-level P&L, managing variances appropriately.
5. Identify and manage complex high-value tenders, including post-award contracting and information governance.
6. Lead strategies to secure public reimbursement at regional and national levels in Spain.
7. Develop a rational pricing approach aligned with company profitability and optimized for revenue and profit.
8. Provide accurate sales and profit forecasts monthly and quarterly, adjusting budgets and strategies as needed.
9. Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing country team with the necessary competencies and motivation.
10. Implement commercial excellence programs to enhance planning and sales performance.
11. Collaborate closely with the Client Services team to ensure high-quality customer service.
12. Manage the interface between the direct sales effort and PPP partners.
13. Work with the International Public Affairs and Market Access teams to develop strategies for reimbursement.
14. Support a medical team capable of articulating the clinical offerings to clinicians.
15. Ensure contribution to global and regional trials and develop country-specific studies for evidence development.
16. Manage and develop the country team to deliver top performance and position the business as a desirable employer.
17. Lead the Spain commercial team, including a sales distributor and market access consultants, with dotted line oversight of the medical director.
18. Partner with the international business development team to manage EUAA long-range plans.
Qualifications :
* Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacy, Medical, or equivalent.
* A relevant Master’s degree, especially an MBA, is highly desirable.
* Valid national driving license.
Experience :
* Over 5 years in senior sales or medical management, preferably in oncology molecular diagnostics/devices or related fields.
* Experience managing teams to achieve targets with minimal intervention and managing P&L budgets.
* Expertise in the oncology genomic medicine healthcare landscape.
* Proven track record in delivering complex commercial and medical programs.
Skills :
* Strong commercial and scientific management skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
* Excellent coaching skills, working closely in the field to deliver key programs.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to represent the company internally and externally.
* Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
