What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with a strong background in GNSS systems and software development for safety-critical environments, preferably within the space sector. The ideal candidate has solid experience across the conception, specification, and design phases, and is comfortable working with complex embedded systems under stringent quality and assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to systems engineering activities, particularly during conception, specification, and design phases.
• Design, implement, and optimize embedded software for microprocessor-based platforms, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Develop software in C and C++ within RTOS environments such as VxWorks or PikeOS.
• Apply software development processes compliant with DAL Design Assurance Levels and DO-178C standards.
• Participate in software quality validation processes and configuration/version management.
• Support GNSS-related developments, including signal processing concepts, performance analysis, and RF interference detection and geolocation.
• Produce clear and structured technical documentation for complex systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in the space field.
• Proven experience in systems engineering best practices, especially in conception, specification, and design phases.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with microprocessor-based systems (e.g. ARM) and RTOS environments such as VxWorks or PikeOS.
• Demonstrated experience developing software according to DAL Design Assurance Levels.
• Solid knowledge of DO-178C normative.
• Experience in Python programming.
• Experience with software version management tools.
• Experience in software quality validation processes.
• Familiarity with ESA ECSS standards or similar.
• Good understanding of GNSS system concepts, GNSS signals, performance metrics, RF interference detection, and geolocation.
• Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems.
• Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of MATLAB.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS or similar, and tracking tools like JIRA.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Capella or Enterprise Architect.
