What You'll Do in the Role

The primary objective of this position is to support the claims department with follow ups and new lodgements that are provided to by the claims team and management. The claims will consist of both Domestic & Commercial Insurance. It is essential that the handling of all claims is completed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Support the claims team with follow ups and lodgement of new claims as provided by the team and management.

* Assist in managing the claims inbox is cleared and maintained daily.

* Manage between 20-30 Daily Follow ups.

* Manage claims with a sense of urgency to get them followed up quickly with an answer back to the team.

* Handle queries to limits of role or delegate to the most appropriate staff member.

* Provide advice on making a claim and the processes involved.

* Detailed notes on Winbeat to be entered on all claims.

* Liaise between clients, brokers, insurers, repairers, builders and valuers throughout the claims process.

* Negotiate with assessors and insurers to obtain an accurate and timely resolution to claims

* Comply with all office policies and procedures along with various laws, codes and regulations.

* Back up for the team when someone is away or on leave.

* Exceptional customer service when required.

* Ensure customer complaints are escalated and responded to within specified Internal Dispute Resolution timeframes as per RG 271, and that responses are thorough and fair.

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Insurance Director & Operations Manager.

Skills /Qualifications

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Must possess Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills along with administrative skills.

* Experience with Winbeat & Officetech preferred.

* Strong understanding of all General Insurance policy wordings.

* Strong Relationship and Team Building Skills.

* Strong negotiation skills.

* Must maintain a good attendance record.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES

* High School Diploma or Equivalent

* 3 years’ minimum experience in Domestic & Commercial claims handling in a brokerage.
