What we are looking for
* Coursing Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences field.
* Previous laboratory experience in a microbiology or molecular biology environment (university labs, internships, or final thesis projects are acceptable).
* Availability for immediate incorporation.
* Commit to a minimum one-year traineeship (with a three‑month trial period).
* Presential position in a laboratory in San Cugat del Vallès-Barcelona area.
Your responsibilities
* Perform laboratory-based experimental work with the focus on probiotics and microbial strains related to food matrices and food supplements
* Carry out routine and non-routine microbiological procedures, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
* Conduct experiments involving microbial culture, enumeration, strain maintenance, and basic molecular techniques.
* Ensure proper maintenance, calibration and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
* Maintain accurate lab records, data logs, and experimental reports.
* Assist in updating and organizing laboratory materials, reagents and inventory.
* Contribute to quality control tasks when required.
* Support Clinical Trials Managers and R&D Scientists in sample preparation, data collection, and documentation.
Skills required
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and within deadline-driven environments.
* High level of adaptability, flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques.
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and methodical working habits.
* Ability to work under sterile or semi-sterile conditions (biosafety cabinets, aseptic techniques).
· Languages: fluency in Spanish and/or Catalan, and strong English skills for effective communication and clear report writing.
* Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
* Proactive, curious, and enthusiastic about innovation in microbiology and food supplements.
Nice to have (optional but valuable)
* Knowledge of food technology, food microbiology and gut microbiota.
* Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (Excel, GraphPad, etc.).
* Prior experience with cell cultures and microscopy.
