The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and hosts the EuroHPC JU Joint Undertaking. Position: CS Department Assistant

Context And Mission
This role is primarily focused on providing administrative and organizational support to Area Directors, Group Leaders, and Activity Leaders within the CS Department, ensuring smooth coordination of their daily operations, logistics, and priorities. The role also contributes to the overall functioning of the Department by supporting and coordinating key administrative and operational processes across teams, and supporting researchers across the Department.
Key Duties
* Managing the schedule/calendar of Area Directors within the CS Department.
* Providing comprehensive administrative support to Area Directors, including travel arrangements, expense reimbursements, organization of internal and external meetings, events, workshops and conferences, project administrative support, and visitor management.
* Managing and coordinating travel for Group Leaders and Activity Leaders, and preparing payment settlements with the Finance Department.
* Providing general support to Group Leaders and Activity Leaders.
* Coordinating tasks, including document drafting and related administrative support.
* Supporting the overall organization and smooth operation of the CS Department, including the resolution of day-to-day operational issues.
Requirements
* Education
o Administrative Studies or equivalent (Professional Administrative/Secretary Training 2nd Grade 2).
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
o 1-3 years of administrative assistant experience.
o Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
o Specific knowledge of development and management of research centers will be highly valued.
o Experience coordinating meetings and organising events.
o Experience coordinating and communicating with different teams.
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
o Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish; fluency in other European languages will also be valued.
o Master in Event Organization.

Conditions
* Location: BSC, Computer Sciences Department.
* Contract: Full‑time (35 hours/week), open‑ended due to project and budget duration.
