Job Title: Mainframe BusienssAnalyst (P&C Retail Insurance)
Mission Overview
For our client active in the insurance sector, we are looking for a Mainframe Business Analyst who will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution.
Core Responsibilities
* Requirements Engineering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate small-to-medium business requests into detailed functional and technical requirements for the IT implementation team.
* System Mapping: Master the IT application landscape to describe requirements for frontend systems integrating with various backends. A deep understanding of how interconnected components function is vital for accurate analysis.
* Quality Assurance: Prepare and execute comprehensive testing activities to validate the team’s deliverables and ensure alignment with business goals.
* Agile Collaboration: Act as a key communicator within an Agile squad, interacting daily with Product Owners, fellow Analysts, Architects, and Backend Developers.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
* Mainframe Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Mainframe environment, specifically with IMS, DB2, and COBOL.
* Code Review: Proficiency in COBOL is required to review and validate code changes performed by offshore development teams.
* Domain Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in P&C Retail Insurance (Property & Casualty). Please note: Experience in Banking or Life Insurance is not applicable for this role.
* Architectural Affinity: A strong understanding of application architecture and how disparate components connect to form a cohesive system.
Language & Soft Skills
* Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in French (for internal stakeholders and POs) and English (for coordination with offshore providers).
* Precision: A structured mindset with a focus on delivering precise, high-quality documentation.
* Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
Practical :
* Location : Brussels (hybrid - 2-3 days/week onsite)
* Contract : Freelance
* Duration : 6 months with possibility for extension
