The Lung Immunity Translational Research group is seeking a highly capable research technician to conduct laboratory experiments and data collection. The successful candidate will participate in specialized research experiments involving tissue processing and data analysis, prepare reports, and provide technical expertise to team members. Additionally, the person will participate in research meetings and discussions, contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct experiments related to the ISCIII project on the role of lipid endocannabinoid signalling in pulmonary fibrosis.
2. Design and perform in vitro experiments using pulmonary cell lines and pharmacological endocannabinoids to assess impacts on cell proliferation, functionality, and activation.
3. Perform in vivo mouse experiments using pulmonary fibrosis models in genetic knockout mice; conduct molecular and histological analyses on samples.
4. Process human samples for endocannabinoid measurements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's Degree in biomedical sciences; Master’s in immunology or biomedical sciences preferred.
2. Knowledge of Catalan and Spanish; English skills are a plus.
3. Strong experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA, RNA, ELISA, Western Blot), biochemical analysis, advanced cell culture, and cell functional assays (phagocytosis, NETosis, ROS, myeloperoxidase, flow cytometry).
4. Mandatory title for experimental animal handling; genotyping, harvest, and sample processing skills are advantageous.
5. Basic knowledge of biostatistics and data analysis.
6. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools, such as R Studio, is a plus.
7. Well-organized, goal-oriented, with strong scientific communication and writing skills.
8. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and actively participate in the team.
