At Nextpower we are looking for a Network Engineer as part of the Technical Service team to provide comprehensive technical support to Nextpower ’s European customers. The main responsibilities are to ensure communication, connectivity, and cyber‑security of our customers’ power plants with Nextpower's secure data centers.
Job Description
The selected person will have a customer‑oriented mindset with at least three years of experience in a similar role and a proactive attitude to help Nextpower’s existing fleet and rapid expansion.
Main Activities Performed In This Position
- The network communications specialist will play an essential role within the Technical Support team on the Nextpower asset management.
- Its core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the remote installation, commissioning, and monitoring of the world's largest installed base of single‑axis solar panel trackers.
- Serving our new and existing customers to establish remote data feeds from the customer’s power plants to Nextpower's secure data centers.
- Working with Engineering and IT specialists to design connection solutions and facilitate the secure use of these systems to:
- Configure and maintain network communication between Nextpower and our global customers in a cyber‑secure manner.
- Configure and customize networking equipment with customer‑specific and Nextpower information.
- Configure and ensure adequate function of Nextpower's data hubs.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues in a timely manner.
- Provide follow‑up and technical support to customers using the Nextpower ticketing system.
- Software configuration and deployment of the proprietary monitoring tool.
- Own the firmware versions, releases, deployment and interaction with the development team.
- As part of the technical service team, other responsibilities will include satisfactorily solving assigned issues, providing best‑in‑class support to our customers—including remote assistance, troubleshooting, firmware updates, training, and warranty claims resolution—among others.
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Network and Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis, or Information Systems.
- CCNA or Network+ certification.
- More than three years of experience in building and maintaining computer networks, including configuration and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks, firewalls, and VPN tunnels.
- Knowledge of ACL configuration and how to validate ports and services affecting communication between endpoints.
- Awareness of network security concepts and practices (Cybersecurity).
- Knowledge of Modbus & OPC Protocol.
- Customer‑oriented experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Windows and Linux (bash and command line interface), and OS.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and BIOS.
- Experience using Wireshark to capture packets and validate traffic flows.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Some travel may be required.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; other European languages are a plus.

- Microsoft certifications.
- Experience in Solar Energy.
