The Opportunity
ASB seeks an inspiring Elementary School Principal who is a visionary instructional leader committed to educational equity and excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in current literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading, proven experience with MTSS, and experience and passion for Interdisciplinary Project-Based and Deeper Learning. Key Responsibilities
* Champion a shared vision for high-quality, inclusive learning grounded in ASB’s strategic goals of deeper learning and care and belonging.
* Lead faculty professional growth through ongoing coaching, collaboration, and evidence-based instructional practices.
* Guide the continued development of interdisciplinary project-based learning.
* Lead and support two instructional coaches in collaboration with the teaching and learning team.
Curriculum & Assessment
* Oversee strong instructional practices and curriculum implementation, ensuring alignment with research-based instructional practices and school vision.
* Support interdisciplinary team planning to ensure engaging, connected, and inspiring learning experiences for students.
* Use student assessment data such as MAP, DIBELS, and other curriculum-based assessments to guide instructional decisions for support and extension.
* Support MTSS systems and ensure data-informed interventions and extension meet the needs of all learners.
Staff Development
* Lead and support engaging and relevant professional learning experiences for staff.
* Recruit, support, and retain talented educators through inclusive hiring practices and a culture of feedback and reflection
* Supervise and evaluate staff with care, clarity, and accountability following the ASB professional growth process.
Community & Culture
* Foster a warm, safe, and inclusive school climate grounded in positive behavior practices, equity, and student well-being.
* Communicate transparently and build strong partnerships with families and staff.
* Model emotional intelligence, cultural responsiveness, and adaptive leadership.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven instructional leadership in an international or diverse school setting
* Expertise in early literacy and reading/writing instruction (e.g., Science of Reading, )
* Deep understanding of MTSS
* Experience with Interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Warm, calm, student-centered presence with high emotional intelligence
* Experience with master schedules and supporting a culture of collective efficacy.
* Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
*All prospective employees must be able to clear a background check as well as a sexual offenders clearance for all other countries where the candidate has lived or worked for a period of 3 months or more, over the last 5 years. As well as that, the verification process includes the cross-check of the requested references, which must cover the last five years of work.
