Job Purpose The Technical Office Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Technical Office team in Spain for Building. The role ensures that technical studies and design support are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and comply with applicable regulations in the Building sector. It plays a critical part in supporting the Specification & Project Sales (SPS) Building team by enabling successful conversion of the project pipeline into wins through high‐quality technical expertise and effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and coach the in‐house Technical Office team, ensuring clear roles, development plans, and succession planning to guarantee service continuity.
Manage and prioritize the technical project pipeline according to team capacity, business priorities, and commercial impact.
Drive continuous improvement of technical processes, systems, skills, and ways of working, aligned with company strategy and industry requirements.
Monitor workloads, performance, and productivity, ensuring timely delivery under pressure.
Report against a set of KPIs, including department outputs and effectiveness.
Collaborate with universities and external entities to develop a know‐how network and source talent (trainees & scholarships).
Review and coordinate incoming customer requests, including drawings, designs, bills of materials, estimates, specifications, and technical inquiries.
Ensure delivery of high‐quality technical studies, installation designs, and working drawings for all project phases (design, tender, and execution).
Promote and evangelise the use of Aliaxis technical tools, design software, and specification solutions via the Aliaxis Academy.
Provide expert technical advice to the SPS team regarding product application and standards, when required.
Attend site and client visits with the SPS team to provide advice or installation guidance if required.
Identify training and development needs among internal teams, MEPs, specifiers, installers, and distributors to increase product specification and solution adoption.
Deliver or coordinate technical training initiatives to increase the adoption and specification of Aliaxis' proprietary software.
Participate in trade shows, symposiums, public talks, and customer visits as a technical representative of the company.
Ensure that all technical information provided internally and externally complies with current European and local Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, standards, and statutory requirements.
Maintain and update a technical library including standards, regulations, industry codes of practice, and relevant third‐party documentation.
Represent the company in external technical committees and relevant industry organisations when required.
Ensure systematic use and promotion of CRM to manage Technical Studies, technical requests, and project follow‐up across all stages.
Provide transparency on the contribution of the Technical Office to Specification Sales and Project conversion.
Define, track, and report KPIs related to department output, efficiency, quality, and commercial impact.
Periodically prepare performance reports to support management decision‐making.
Proactively analyse processes and technical activities to develop strategies that enhance team performance and business contribution.
Requirements Bachelor or Technical degree in Architecture or Hydraulic Engineering.
3–8 years of experience in similar roles.
Analytical mindset (Power BI user preferred).
CRM platforms experience (MS Dynamics preferred).
Experience in Technical Sales and delivering technical training or product presentations.
Knowledge of piping systems, fluid management, or similar technical solutions is a plus.
Proficiency in design tools: BIM, REVIT, CAD, CYPE, Presto, Arquimides.
Local Building Code knowledge.
