What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do
We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, a strong desire to learn, and will work with the culinary leadership team to create menus that reflect seasonal availability and the restaurant concept. The cook assists the chef in the production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining, maintaining a passive leadership role in ensuring adequate production levels from the kitchen staff.
Your Role
- Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté, fry)
- Experience using knives and various kitchen equipment
- Recreate recipes accurately
- Maintain consistency in all food preparation
- Minimize food waste through cross utilization
- Work with a world-class culinary team
- Create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Be responsible for the quality of ingredients
Qualifications
- Active Food Handler’s certification or ability to obtain one
- Willingness to work a variety of day, night and weekend shifts
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Minimum age 21 years
- Desire to exceed expectations
- Energetic personality
Compensation
$20.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
